Purity Ring Boiler Room Mix

This the last two weekends have been totally dominated by the Canadian genius duo Purity Ring, it appears Corin & Megan cannot step a foot wrong. Incorporating classic tracks from Cassie and Rihanna and chart toppers from Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber with remixes of their own work to create  an ambient and bass filled 45 minutes. Using hip hop influences from Evian Christ and Angel Haze to express a new approach to the trippy atmostpheric beats they can't be without, whilst still remaining true to the original sounds which we all know and love of Purity Ring. 

A mix for any occasion...  I was introduced to this mix by a handsome gentleman whilst taking too long to get ready for a night out at Rex Club (DJ PIERRE & PHUTURE) on a weekend away to Paris, of course this instantly flipped my attitude from leisurely lipstick application to popping the cork on a bottle of Brut, a real party starter and mood lifter. The second weekend in question could not contrast more, Saturday evening came along and it happened to be my 4th day house bound due to illness, still this mix remained on repeat keeping spirits high and toes tapping it even encouraged a venture outside - that heavy bass is just what the doctor ordered! 

THEMAST

Breaking the mould of the endless east coast electro indie duos The Mast produce a mass clutter of futuristic synths, wailing vocals and stuttering beats. An inviting and refreshing approach to the classic male on a laptop/drums girl with a mic genre that I ever so dearly love, this pairing create depth with empowering vocals and a hypnotic and majestic beat.
